| TRAINING PROGRAMMES - INTRODUCTION |
Apprenticeships are not just jobs with Learning, but are real career opportunities to ensure you continue to train and progress after leaving school or college.
The qualifications were introduced in 2004 succeeding the established successful Modern Apprenticeship Programme. Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work and earn a wage whilst learning and gaining qualifications.
Advanced Apprenticeship opportunities are generally aimed towards a managerial or supervisory role; Apprenticeship jobs normally require you to perform at a more practical level initially, before developing your skills and progressing to a more senior position over a period of time.
Apprenticeship and Advanced apprenticeship jobs offer Learning in the workplace towards NVQ's and nationally recognised Key skills. These Key skills are transferable skills such as communication and application of number, which will be relevant throughout your working life.
